'Bout time to get out the mower. Do a little today, do a little tomorrow, etc., till it gets done.
I pull out the mower. Fill the tank with gasoline. Prime the pump. Try to pull on the starter cord. It won't budge. I take off the top cover but can't really see or get to where the cord goes. I don't know what's wrong. I can't pull the cord.
About this time Rich drives into the driveway with his honking huge truck. I say to him, let's load it in the back of the truck and you drop it off at the small engine shop on your way to your next appointment. He's in a hurry. He doesn't try it himself. He trusts me.
Oh, oh! That was a mistake.
At the engine shop, the man immediately pulls the cord and starts the engine. He doesn't charge Richard anything--he hadn't done anything. Richard leaves the shop chagrined.
When he returned and said there was nothing wrong I knew immediately what I had done. I had not pulled the fail-safe crossbar to the handle to allow the mower to run.
Am I embarassed!

Hmmm....some days it hardly pays to get out of bed, does it. At least you don't have a big repair bill.
