After having a record warm March and a couple of days with 80° temperatures last week, I was lulled into thinking that it was early summer. Very bad erroneous thinking.
Throughout last week I had had windows open in various rooms, including the kitchen area where the furnace thermostat is located. So I turned off the heat, not wanting the furnace to pop on if the temperature fell below 69°--which is where we leave it for daytime temperatures in the heating season.
I forgot about having done that. Is it a sign of impending Alzheimer's or simply having more pressing and/or interesting things to think about?
I knew that the night time temperatures have been around 28° - 33°, but the daytime temperatures had been much warmer--until yesterday.
Yesterday was a beautifully sunny day, but when I walked the dog in the morning it was 34° and it was quite windy. Unfortunately the temperatures only climbed into the upper 40°s and the wind continued to blow all day.
I opened a window in the bedroom last night, as is my custom, so that it would be cool while we slept. When I got up this morning and went into another part of the house I thought it was really pretty chilly throughout the house.
Then I remembered that the furnace was off. The temperature on the thermostat registered 58°. I turned on the furnace, but unfortunately my morning shower included goosebumps. And no I wasn't reading.
