Greener Grass

We are looking forward to our upcoming stay in Hawaii--nice weather, lots of sunshine, great beaches, no yard or garden work (for us, anyway), multiculti atmosphere, new foods to try, etc.

There is one thing in Wisconsin (besides family and dog), however, that we both miss:  the long stretch of daylight.

On the day of the summer solstice there are 15 hours and 25 minutes of daylight in West Bend, compared to 13 hours and 26 minutes of daylight in Honolulu.  Two hours more in WB.

Of course, come winter when we have 8 hours and 57 minutes of daylight at the end of December, Hawaii's daylight (10 hours and 50 minutes) and weather will seem better.

I guess the grass is only greener for a while on the other side.
