Bummer . . .

The last couple of days haven't brought the most upbeat news.

My Uncle Ralph has died.

Hubby has not been offered to teach in Hawaii this summer. No reason given.

Hubby (no longer head track coach) has been re-assigned for the spring season to coach sprints and jumps instead of the distance events, if he is going to coach in the spring. The distance events have been assigned to a student teacher, a fellow who is only at the school for one semester and who has never coached before. Hubby has been working closely with the wheelchair champion athlete as well as a fellow who went to the state cross country meet. Why didn't the student teacher get the sprints and jumps assignment? He ran distance events in high school and knows nothing about the other events.

Hubby's blood pressure is suddenly much higher. The doctor who treated him surgically last year wants to find out what's going on, so he has ordered an MRA to be done at UW Hospital in Madison.

That's where we are now. I'm waiting for Hubby to finish with the procedure. In good weather the trip from home takes one hour and forty-five minutes. We left at 6:30 am for the appointment scheduled for 9:15. Today it took three hours and fifteen minutes because it is snowing. We passed at least a dozen vehicles in the ditch. And in Madison the morning commute was like a parking lot. I hope the trip home is better. At least we got here safely even if it was late.

Sometimes life's events are unexplainable. We'll pray the BP problem is treatable.
