Black Friday

Black Friday for me is a day to stay away from stores and shopping malls.

I think there is something wrong with a society where people forego their sleep, and maybe part of a holiday celebrating thankfulness, to literally run others down to try to buy a flat-screen TV or the latest toy.

Yesterday we were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with our friends, the Cahills, as we have for many years.  They did the bulk of the preparation and hosted us at their house.

I spent the morning preparing a few items to bring:

Pumpkin Pie (with pumpkin I processed earlier this fall)

Waldorf Salad

Kelly and I were just talking about the sickness that has consumed Black Friday - people skipping family celebrations in order to camp out (for days!) to get a deal. Awful.
