The whirlwind that was the past week is now over. Son #1 and Grandson #1 left yesterday and the other two guests left this morning. We had a great time visiting with all of them and it's always sad when they leave.
Now it's time to do sheets, towels, tablecloths, napkins, etc. Plus the rooms with the sleeper couch and two futons need to be returned to the usual, non-guest state.
Since I received a new computer (!!!) for Christmas there will be comsiderable time needed for transfer of files, settings, etc., from my seven plus-year old computer, and the time to learn the different tricks on the new one.
And, there is also my most-desired item to set up: the portable internet radio. Now I can listen to streaming programs from around the world in any room of the house with nice speakers. In 1989 Hubby gave me a short-wave radio for Christmas. I still use it everyday in the kitchen area to listen to local programming. But for approximately 15 years I listened to cultural and news programming from Germany everyday on a station similar to NPR. Then the station stopped sending shortwave to North America. They concentrated their budgets on Internet programming instead. Listening to those programs on my computer in the family room was NOT convenient. I have missed keeping current with the language and the topics. Now I'll also be able to practice listening to Italian and French as well.

Sounds like Santa was very good to you. Glad things went well. Now back to finishing the remodeling.
